Schilling to the DL

Not a big surprise. I think this is more of a precautionary move by the Sox to give Schilling some time off and let him rest up. After all, he is 40 and could use a rest.
So this sets up the rotation pretty nicely, with Beckett to pitch Sunday vs. the Padres and Tavarez to throw again on Monday vs. the Mariners.
All signs point to John Lester getting the call from Pawtucket. Lester is 1-3 2.49 ERA for Pawtucket in nine starts. I think the Sox should give him his shot now. They would be foolish not to.
